The Summer 2010 Retreat program at Palyul Ling in Upstate New York has concluded. This annual retreat program is based on the Buddha in the Palm of Your Hand (Sangye Lak Chang), revealed by Tertön Migyur Dorje, which our late root teacher, His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, worked so hard to preserve. Those familiar with His Holiness? biography know, that if it were not for His Holiness? efforts in collecting the scattered texts back together, the retreat would not be possible. (Read more).
As according to His Holiness? instructions and with his blessing, His Eminence Khentul Gyankhang Tulku Rinpoche granted all the Nam Chö empowerments as well as the Nam Chö Ngöndrö teachings and instructions. Khen Rinpoche Tenzin Norgyay gave teachings and instructions on Tsa Lung inner heat practices. Khen Rinpoche Tsewang Gyatso granted the Tsa Lung empowerment (a prerequisite for students wishing to take the Tsa Lung course), as well as all the Dzogchen instructions for Tögyal and Trechö.
This is the thirteenth year of retreat as our late Holiness Penor Rinpoche started this retreat in 1998 It has continued until now unbroken, with the blessings of the lineage. To view some of the recorded practices and teachings from 2010 retreat, please visit: http://www.ustream.tv/user/palyul
On the auspicious day of Medicine Buddha, June
19, 2010 at 8:07pm, our most beloved teacher and one of the great
scholars and masters in Nyingmapa Buddhism, Khenchen Palden Sherab
Rinpoche passed into parinirvana peacefully and beautifully. All stages
of meditation were perfectly demonstrated according to the teachings of
the Buddha and Guru Padmasambhava, and as Khenchen Rinpoche himself
taught for so many years. He entered fearlessly without any emotion or
attachment, joyfully and with confidence at his home, Arya Palo Ling, in
the presence of his beloved brother, Venerable Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal
Rinpoche, and Jomo Lorraine, and during the sangha's practice of
Vajrasattva in the glorious Copper-colored Temple at Palden Padma Samye
Ling monastery. Surrounded by every lush spring quality of gentle
breezes, birds singing, flowers blooming, and deer playing in the
meadows, he remains in thugdam meditation. Read more here...
The venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche has recommended accumulating the 100 syllable mantra to Vajrasattva to purify our minds.
Thanks to everyone that joined us for the
incredible Phowa
retreat with H.E. Khenchen Rigzin Dorjee
Rinpoche. We were truly blessed to receive these important and rare
teachings. Everyone in attendance showed signs of accomplishment!

We at PCD-DC are deeply saddened by the recent earthquake in Haiti, which has caused extraordinary suffering. PCD-DC is helping to collect shoes for shipment to the island. Anyone who has footwear of any kind - men's, women's or children's; new or in very good condition - please drop them off during any of PCD-DC's scheduled events (see Calendar) by the last day of February.
