Chotrul Düchen

posted Mar 10, 2014, 7:26 AM by Palyul Changchub Dargyeling Washington DC Area

We continue our festivities for Losar (Tibetan New Year  Male Wood Horse year of 2141).  Traditionally Losar is celebrated for two weeks, ending with Chotrul Düchen (The Festival of Miracles) on Sunday, March 16.  In Buddhist tradition it is auspicious to clear away negativities of the past, which is, after all, gone forever.  We prepare our minds—become New Beings—for the New Year.

Tuesday, March 11
7 PM - Practice: Rigdzin Dupa tsog in celebration of Guru Rinpoche Day will be held at 7 p.m. in the home of member Keith Matis, 525 Orchard Way in Silver Spring, Maryland, 20904.  Please bring offerings of flowers or finger food to add to the banquet, along with your smiling face.

 Sunday, March 16,
10 AM — Practice: Our regular Meditation Group meeting at our regular location: 316 Commerce St. in Alexandria.
11:30 AM — Practice: We celebrate the first day of Losar with a Shower of Blessings with tsog (feast offering), and Lama Mipham Rinpoche’s Shakyamuni Buddha practice.  Please bring finger food or flowers to add to the tsog feast.
