Come enjoy a free group class on meditation instruction and practice. By learning to meditate, the practitioner can develop a holistic world view that is the foundation for expanding our relationships with self and others. Class will be centered around calm abiding (shine/samatha) meditation which is the art of calming the mind as taught in Tibetan Buddhism.
No experience is needed. All are welcome.

The Benefits
Our mind is always abiding, but where does it abide? The purpose of meditation is to place our mind in a calm and peaceful state. This mental state decreases the negative effects of stress, anxiety, and depression. Through meditation we gradually become more relaxed and able to control our emotions; even under difficult circumstances. Through systematic training we can dissolve the delusions that cause our suffering and achieve a liberating happiness called nirvana.
